With investment sales of over $2 billion and 35+ years in commercial real estate, Jeffrey P. Baasch offers his clients a wealth of transactional and strategic asset management experience. Utilizing his CPA and MBA training and background, Jeff has a proven ability to analyze complex investment management issues, exercise independent judgment and implement solutions that minimize cost and maximize value.
Jeff has an in-depth knowledge of all asset classes of real estate, having advised clients across the United States on all property types including multifamily, office, retail and industrial properties. By combining deep market knowledge with an institutional execution strategy, Jeff leverages his competencies to assist property owners in developing comprehensive acquisition strategies and maximize the value of their assets upon disposition.
Jeff is frequently retained to develop workout strategies for Bank Owned/REO and other distressed, underperforming, and mismanaged real estate assets. In these assignments, Jeff draws on his prior experience managing a commercial bank’s portfolio of facilities as well as his experience providing asset, property and construction management for an opportunistic real estate portfolio. Jeff is highly skilled in identifying opportunities for improving overall operating and financial performance through conducting detailed evaluation of operations programs, operating performance, budgets, property management, legal, tax, environmental and leasing matters across an entire portfolio of assets.
In one of Jeff’s more notable recent assignments, he was retained by a federal court receiver to assist with the disposition of assets involved in a $130 million Ponzi scheme. On this case, Jeff provided asset management and brokerage services in connection with the operation and orderly disposition of 120 multifamily properties over the course of several years.
In another notable assignment, Jeff provided investment banking and group management services to market a $200 million, 67-property, 3 million SF office and industrial property portfolio.
In his career, Jeff has also managed assets of a 34- property portfolio, including a 500-unit multifamily community, a portfolio of 40 industrial buildings, a 725,000 square foot office building, and the sale of a first mortgage note on a 1,000,000 SF regional shopping center. He has also restructured debt for workout properties and properties in foreclosure.

Prior to joining AW Properties Global, Jeff worked for SVN Chicago Commercial, Transwestern Commercial Services, JMB Institutional Realty/Heitman Capital Management, and KPMG Peat Marwick where he was a Staff Auditor.
Jeff is a licensed real estate broker in Illinois, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). He received his MBA in Finance from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University, and his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Illinois State University.
